About
My name is Anna Duhon, and I am a registered nurse and IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) with 8 years experience working with new moms and babies as a postpartum/nursery and a Neonatal ICU nurse at the bedside. I was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. My family and I spent 9 years away from the Acadiana area, pursuing our careers. I have spent the last 5 years serving breastfeeding moms around the Acadiana area. I love sharing my passion and knowledge with my beloved community.
I like to tell people my passion for helping moms breastfeed found me. Although I spent several years teaching new moms how to breastfeed at the bedside, my desire to know and learn more came after breastfeeding my own son and encountering many obstacles. I relied heavily on the support of my husband and the wonderful lactation consultants I was fortunate to have worked with. I often would ask, "What does the average person do when they have breastfeeding struggles?" I had several lactation consultants on speed dial just because of where I worked, and trust me, I called on them often. I thought I knew a lot about breastfeeding at the time I had my son, but I was very wrong.
My own experiences and challenges with breastfeeding sparked a desire in me to learn everything I could about breastfeeding, so that I could help other moms reach their feeding goals. I wanted to be able to be an advocate and support line for the many families I encountered who were going through difficult times or were also very passionate about breast feeding their baby; so here we are!
I pride myself on being non-judgmental and pressure-free in helping you reach your feeding goals. Whether that means exclusively breastfeeding, exclusively pumping, bottle feeding, formula feeding, at-the-breast supplementation, or a combination of them. Breastfeeding can be a wonderful experience, but also very difficult and stressful at times. I hope to be a support system you can rely on when you need reassurance or assistance in reaching your feeding goals.
